New Century Schools System


REGISTRATION
From 1st of May

VENUE:
• New Century Bilingual School, Mfandena I – Yaoundé;
• New Century II Bilingual School, Ebogo – Soa.

ADMISSION CONDITIONS
• Pre-nursery and Nursery 1–2: fulfilment of the requirements on age limit;
• Primary School: Report card for the previous academic year.

BUSINESS HOURS:
• From Monday to Friday (7:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

1) FIRST CYCLE (FORMS 1-5)

Admissions into form one is made by an interview test. Pupils must have done class VI and passed the Government Common Entrance. Admission into other forms is done when spaces are available. Candidates for admissions must show proof of good past academic record, high moral character and must also write an admission test.

DOCUMENTS TO BE ATTACHED (ALL CLASSES):
• Original and photocopy of birth certificate;
• Original and photocopy of Class V and Class VI Report Booklet (Form 1 candidate);
• Original and photocopy of previous class academic report (Forms 2–4);
• 2 passport size photographs;
• A School Attendance Attestation;
• Medical Certificate;
• Interview fee of XAF 5000.

BUSINESS HOURS:
• From Monday to Friday (7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
• Saturday (7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) -Form 5 classes only!


2) SECOND CYCLE (LOWER & UPPER SIXTH FORMS)

Admission into Lower Sixth Arts and Lower Sixth Science forms is opened to candidates who have passed the GCE Ordinary Level examination in at least five subjects including all the subjects they intend to attempt at the Advanced Level. Admission is subject to the availability of space.

DOCUMENTS TO BE ATTACHED:
• Original and photocopy of birth certificate;
• Original and photocopy of GCE Results slip (Lower Sixth forms);
• 2 passport size photographs;
• A School Attendance Attestation;
• Medical Certificate;
• Interview fee of XAF 5000.

N.B.: The college prospectus will be provided to candidates upon admission.

3) FURTHER INFORMATION (SECONDARY AND HIGH SCHOOL)

The conditions for admission of students to New Century Institute of Learning Ebogo-Soa are as follows:

Article 1: Student status is acquired

A. By Entrance examination, transfer, file study and, enrolment of certain social cases, as per:

I. Circular no. 17/09/MINESEC/ IGS of April 20, 2009 that spells out the standard and procedure for admission of students into private secondary schools,

II. Circular no. 16/C/11/MINEDUC/IGP/EMPN/ DESG/ DEPM/DETP/ DEXC relating to the organization of the entrance examination Form 1 [….] of common entrance […], and,

III. Law no. 98/004 of April 1998 on education in Cameroon, which guarantees equal opportunities for access education for all in article 7.

a) Entrance examination: from form 1 to form 4

– File study in order to assess if the applicant complies with the conditions of admission set by the permanent recruitment committee (age, performance, conduct, number of students etc.).

– Enrolment of certain social cases on written recommendation from the social affair department as per the provisions of joint Circular no. 34/06/LC/MINESEC/MINAS of August 2, 2006 on the admission of disabled children and children born with indigent disabled parents in private secondary education institutions.

B. On the payment of school fees dues within the required period. An applicant effectively acquires Student status, following payment of fees due via authorised payment methods and subsequent registration on the list approved by the principal. In addition, students in examination classes shall pay their examination fees along with school fees at the start of the school year.
Acquisition of the status of a student is subject presentation of the following materials during registration:
• School supplies in accordance with the list drawn up by the minister of secondary education;
• Two school uniforms sown according to the statutory model bearing the emblem, the name, first name;
• Sport wears as per the colour of chosen classes;
• A duly filled information form;
• Four coloured passport size photograph.

Student status entitles a beneficiary to a school identity card, a school report card, and a comprehensive training (academic, civic, moral and physical).

C. The school welcomes students of both sexes.

Article 2: A student of New Century Institute of Learning Ebogo – Soa loses
his/her status by:

I. Transfer to another private school.


II. Resignation by:

a) Unjustified absence of more than 30 days or 30 hours;
b) Non-payment of school fees;
c) Non-submission of files for official examination (see decree No 95/035 of 24 February 1995, chapter 11, articles 7–14);
d) Deliberate refusal to comply with the provisions of NCIL’s internal rules and regulations;
e) Final exclusion decision pronounced by the disciplinary council;
f) Non-submission of medical report or record for chronic illnesses.

Note: the re-admission of a student who has lost his/her status is only possible by a special decision of the hierarchy
