MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

“Located within the Maetur housing estate in the Mfandena I district, and in the Marc Vivien Foe Street neighbourhood at Omnisport, the New Century Bilingual School is a private secular institution located in the urban area of Yaoundé. The school operates full time and practices full bilingualism program.

It is no longer necessary to demonstrate that bilingualism is undoubtedly a major asset for the learner who always comes out a winner.
Our most fervent wish therefore is that young Cameroonians should benefit from it.”

Mme MBOUA Marie Victorine épse ANANGUE LIMALEBA,
Director of NEW CENTURY BILINGUAL SCHOOL.

  • The teachings of our experienced, qualified, competent and efficient pedagogic and administrative team;

  • Our high standard of quality education across an integral bilingualism program, from their very tender ages;

  • We groom them to become useful, not only to themselves, but also to their communities as a whole;

  • Our well-equipped school library and language laboratory, which continuously develop a reading culture in our pupils;

  • Our spacious, clean, well-lit and ventilated classrooms, which favors a healthy and conducive teacher-learner environment;

  • Self-actualization opportunities and resources management skills, time management in particular, while building up self-confidence in our pupils.
  • Work-Discipline-Quality is the motto of our school with its main objectives being to promote bilingualism and train young Cameroonian citizens for their socio-cultural and professional integration.
    The curriculum and the new study plan of the New Century Bilingual School do not only deal with re-organisation, but also with the upgrading of the old program to a new perspective. Its subjects’ content having as ultimate goal the development of key competences that cut across the national base, and of the units of learning built around the centres of interest.

    These centres of interest are places for the expression of skills developed over a given learning period around carefully chosen themes with a view to creating close links between equitable, inclusive, high standards of quality education and sustainable development.

    A dynamic school should be an integral part of this revolution. The New Century Bilingual School is conscious of this fact and does not afford to lag behind.
    In accordance with the action plan elaborated by the Ministry of Basic Education, the school provides the staff and parents with a calendar containing the dates of the activities to be carried out throughout the year to enable them to follow-up permanently, the pedagogic and extracurricular activities of the learners (cf. http://newcenturyschoolssystem.education/academic-calendar/).
    As far as the recruitment of teachers is concerned, any person, regardless of gender or tribe, holding at least a Capiem diploma, can apply to the New Century Bilingual School. We organize recruitment in August, by way of a written and oral test in mathematics and French or English.
    • School uniform (compulsory for all pupils) is to be worn with black shoes and white socks.

    • Natural hair, short and combed or braided for girls.

    • Shaved hair for boys.
